Some big conglomerates try to manipulate it by going short, or by going long. Some sellers try to manipulate it by offering a better deal than the guy. But the very same thing is true of every single thing there is. EVERBODY wants to get the best possible price for their product. From the farmers and ranchers who grow everything you eat, to the textile mills who make your clothes, to the factories that make everything else.
