A BIN price of $350,000.00 for a 1-oz Coca-Cola-Houston silver art bar??????? Give me a break. Coca-Cola silver art bars are hot sellers on ebay but nobody is going to buy this Coca-Cola silver art bar for $350,000.00. There is no Coca-Cola silver art bar on this planet that is close to being worth $350,000.00. Hmmm.......I wonder what the "reserve price" is since it says "reserve not met"?

This Coca-Cola-Houston silver art bar was minted in 1977 by the World Wide Mint (WWM-71). According to the second edition of the book called "Coca-Cola Bottler's 75th Anniversary Ingot and Round Guide Book 1975 to 1988", It is valued at $50.00. Most of the time, silver art bars on ebay are not going to sell at guide book price. It will probably go for about $40. Maybe $45 on a "perfect" day.

He wants to have a fresh start but hoping and praying for someone to pay $350,000.00 for a Coca-Cola silver art bar that is worth "only" $50.00 is not going to give him the fresh start for his family.

    Here is the ebay auction:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/75th-Coca-Cola-Edition-Silver-Bar-/110545007651?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item19bcfef423

I am going to put this auction on my ebay "watch list" to see what the winning bid will be. I do not think that there will be any bids on this silver art bar but I could possibly be wrong on this. This auction has just over 2 days left on it. We will see.

That auction reminds me of the little boy selling lemonade, it was a hot day and the man was thirsty so he asked the boy, how much for a glass of lemonade, the boy said, that will be 20 dollars, the man said, "son you are not going to sell very much lemonade at 20 dollars a glass" The boy said, "I know, but then I will only have to sell one"

I don't see anywhere in the auction where they say how big this bar is.

Sure, it looks like a postage stamp size bar propped up on a sofa...but who knows, this could be a 20,000 Oz bar...making it a steal at $350,000! :thumb:

It is a 1-oz silver bar. How do I know this?...........Even though I do not have the Coca-Cola-Houston silver art bar, the only reason that I know this is because I have a few other Coca-Cola silver art bars in my silver art bar collection and all of them are 1-oz in size and it is stamped. The weight and purity of the Coca-Cola silver art bars (including the one in the auction) will have the weight and purity stamped on one side of the silver bar.

I also looked through the guide book called "Coca-Cola Bottler's 75th Anniversary Ingot and Round Guide Book 1975 to 1988" and I did not see any Coca-Cola silver bars that were bigger than 1-oz.

That is why I titled this thread "Crazy Ebay Auction" because he had a BIN price of $350,000.00 for a 1-oz silver art bar and that is crazy. I know that ebay buyers can get real crazy and will overpay on a silver art bar but I seriously doubt that ANY ebay buyer will be crazy enough to pay a BIN price of $350,000.00 for this particular 1-oz Coca-Cola silver art bar that has a guide book value of $50.00.

Speaking of the crazy ebay auction...........Hmmmmmm........No bids and with over 14 hours left in the auction, it does not appear that anybody is going to even bid on this auction. It makes sense to not bid on this auction because nobody knows what the reserve price is.

    But it's for charity:

" Unique 75th Anniversary Coca Cola Silver Bar. I would like to sell this item so that my family can have a fresh start. We are healthy bless the lord. We lost our home in 2005. I want to be able to buy a home for my family and a vehicle. I know this seems extremely high. Thank you"

The Decepticons might have destroyed his house but it was the Autobots that "saved" him and his family since they are in good health. :goofer:

While it might be true that miracles can happen but I doubt that some ebay buyer is going to pay $350,000.00 for a 1-oz silver art bar. That will not happen.

    Speaking of the crazy auction....................

With 5 hours left in the auction, there are still no bids and I seriously doubt that there will be any bids on this silver art bar auction.

    Major problems with this auction:

1.) High BIN price that does not make any sense for what he is selling.

2.) An unknown reserve for a Coca-Cola silver art bar that might have a winning bid of between $40-$45 otherwise in an auction that does not have a reserve. This IMO would be a red flag if this auction somehow got a winning bid of $40-$45 and the reserve was still not met. Maybe I am wrong on this.

3.) No seller feedback score. It is true that you have to start somewhere but not in this way IMO.

Conclusion: Nobody is going to take a chance on this auction with an ebay seller that has no seller feedback trying to sell a 1-oz silver art bar for a BIN price of $350,000.00 or with an unknown reserve if someone wanted to bid on it and did not want to pay the BIN price. The ebay marketplace will say no to this auction.

I wonder if a home is the only thing that awards him a fresh start. From the sounds of the description it sounds to me like he messed up somewhere in life to say his family is healthy, and that he wants a fresh start. Most of these things are scams anyway.
Maybe, just maybe, he wants such a high price because him and his Coke are inseparable. :D

Remember the other tread on "myangelflyshigh" or similar that devolved into a threat of harassment to a member. I am wondering if this is an organized "Angel" group taking advantage of the naive . Waiting to see "MyangelATcoins"

The crazy ebay auction just ended and there were no bids and no one was willing to pay the $350,000.00 BIN price for this 1-oz Coca-Cola-Houston silver art bar. No bids No surprise here. I guess he won't be getting his "fresh start". Bummer.

those are the same people from Nigeria who send out emails that they have 60 million sitting in a bank account and if you send them 30k they'll transfer it in yours and you can keep 30%, there are more auctions like that on ebay with different items.
