<p>[QUOTE="Tom Maringer, post: 383453, member: 7033"]I have started overstriking US memorial copper cents (mechanically sorted from circulation, eye verified) with a new design redefining them as per their bullion content (1/10 troy ounce .950 copper) and with a patriotic theme (bust of Lincoln with the inscription AMERICAN MINED, AMERICAN MADE) alluding to the fact that copper cents before 1982 were actually made using copper mined in the US. On eBay now is a bag of 128 of these overstrikes, totalling 1 troy pound of pure copper content. </p><p><br /></p><p><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Copper-Bullion-Coins-one-Troy-Pound-Copper-12-troy-oz_W0QQitemZ130229515544" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://cgi.ebay.com/Copper-Bullion-Coins-one-Troy-Pound-Copper-12-troy-oz_W0QQitemZ130229515544" rel="nofollow">http://cgi.ebay.com/Copper-Bullion-Coins-one-Troy-Pound-Copper-12-troy-oz_W0QQitemZ130229515544</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Added June 13th</p><p>I've put up another one:</p><p><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130230739098" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130230739098" rel="nofollow">http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130230739098</a></p><p>The stroke counter on the press just passed 2700 pieces, so the dies are lasting fairly well.
