OOPS! I made a big mistake. I meant Kansas, not California. What was I thinking.

@lordmarcovan - Please take note of this.

I like the CT quarter, too. Maybe my second favorite. Top five, anyway. I like coins with trees on them.

Entry Post. I really like finding almost uncirculated Rhode Island quarters. The detailed engraving on the sails of ships often looks iridescent and magical. I have a theory about the Quartermaster: I think he is a spy, and the counterstamps are subterfuge for an even more diabolical and subtle message on each quarter. "Is it safe?".....

in the theme of favoriting bird designs, I loved the kisatchie national Forrest. The turkey is, in my opinion, the most significant and majestic bird in the US. So much there was even a push in the early days to use it as a symbol of our nation. Imagine turkeys on every coin you see an eagle....

if that series doesn’t count, I’ll pick kentucky. Only since I found a silver proof Kentucky quarter in change From a gas station last year

Cool find! I thought that looked like a proof. Silver, too! Awesome.

BTW, you just won a prize in @CoinJockey73’s Giveaway #2. Check your messages. Maybe you’ll get lucky here too, later, if the random number gods smile upon you and give you a streak. I’ve seen it happen before.

Favorite statehood quarter is the 2000 South Carolina quarter, there’s just something about it and I’m not quite sure what.

As bizarre as it will sound, my favorite state quarter is the alternate "fantasy" 2000 Maryland, Chesapeake Bay Scene with 2010-D fantasy obverse by Danie Carr. It maintains the regal appearance of a US Mint State quarter but adds that consistent uniqueness Dan offers in his overstruck coins. This is also why I think counterstamped coins are cool. Here in this modern era where crypto-NFTs and grading companies are trying to find ways to lower the populations, giving us collectors a sense of exclusivity, I believe high quality exonumia fills an essential gap and will draw the next "www kids" generation into a "tangible" hobby that I've been enjoying for over 40 years, especially as most of us will never have the funds to go after super-coins selling for $500k+ on Heritage, Great Collections, etc.

Entry post. My favorite statehood quarter is my birth state of Connecticut, with a close second being Texas which I have called home for the last 21 years. As always, thank you for another awesome CT contest!
