    Not an entry post. I just enjoy sharing my first/favorite gold. As a poor youngster this was a big deal forty five years ago. My local dealer let me cut grass, wash windows and give him my paper route money until this piece became mine. Mom and I would spend hours together at the table gushing over this shiny gold half eagle...... Last year for Mothers Day I had it mounted into a necklace for mom and now she won't take it off..... I suppose I will always have a soft spot for the Liberty Head gold series.

    First gold coin was a ducat I bought in about 1967 in a LCS in Milwaukee when I flew there to visit my girlfriend. Unfortunately, I sold it when I needed money once, and, although I made a profit, I would MUCH rather have had the coin today.

    Choices: doesn't matter; close your eyes and pick, m' Lord.

    Joke: (and no offense to Norwegians; in Minnesota telling Ole and Lena jokes is almost a competitive sport among us Norwegians).

    Ole and Lars are in the two-holer out back. When Ole pulls up his pants a nickel falls into the hole. He promptly fishes out a silver dollar and tosses it in.

    Lars says, "What did you do that for?" Ole replies, "You didn't think I'd go down there just for a nickel did you?"

    I own one commemorative gold coin.

    Coin related - the above coin, 1.2 gr, bought from the National Bank directly, costed 25% of my monthly salary at that time as a fresh full time employee.

    This is the last of the three "extra bonus entries" I allow myself to give out each month.

    @Nonnus- this doubles your odds, but still leaves the final drawing random and essentially fair.

    I've gotten worse "help" from autocorrect. I battle it constantly. Was all set to finally just turn it off recently, but then I realized it helps me about as much as it aggravates me. I don't need help with spelling, usually, but my thumb-typing on a tiny phone keypad often looks like the work of a drunken, dyslexic monkey.

    So I continue the daily struggle against autocorrect, cursing it all the way.
