As long as inflation or competing economic systems exist (internal or external) there is danger to our assets. PMs are one solution to that threat. Bullion buying is, as you mentioned earlier, not a profitable investment activity. But, as the major Central Banks will admit, gold is the next best thing to fiat currency, else why would they buy so much of it each year? It’s insurance that doesn’t require premiums, won’t expire, and can be passed on to the next generation if one wishes to do that.
