The "TE-05" is certainly the Maker's Mark, but I'm not familiar with it...not one of the older ones. Many of the earlier marks are bells with a number inside. William Spratling used a stylistic version of his initials. The Sanfords used Owls. I was really into Taxco silver about ten (10) years ago...when I could still afford some of the nicer pieces. Prices have gone nuts since then and I've haven't been keeping up. I have an early .980 Spratling tea service w/tray that's never leaving the family...if I can help it!
well i have narrowed it down to around 1980 with the help of yakpoo te 05 is the makers mark it means it was made in Taxco E is the first letter of the last name of the maker 05 means he/she was the 5th silversmith to get a number in the TC category. so im guessing early 80s im still reaserching this to find the exact year persons name and value i have not see another piece with te 05 on it online yet not sure why. heres the info i found this out from " The eagle mark was used from about 1955 to 1979, so the eagle stamp is an older piece of fine silver jewelry from Mexico. Newer marks have two letters followed by a dash and another number. This system was started about 1979 or 1980. The new marks with TC-902 and similar numbers are readable. T is the city of origin, Taxco. C is the last name of the maker. 902 is the 902nd silversmith to get a number in the TC category. Mexico City is M" http://www.ehow.com/how_5545818_read-jewelry-marks-mexican-jewelry.html
