the british britannia bullion silver coins with its .925 fine of silver can still challenge the rest of the bullion .999 fine families.

chinese bullion coins were so colorful and artistic. but its prices were so high and the shapes, sizes and face value were not standardized. chinese panda coins is o.k.

Actually, Britannias are "britannia" silver (.958 fine) not "sterling" (.925 fine).

I really do like this coin also, I also like the designs of other foreign gold coins they are beautiful. However I buy the American double eagle because I feel when the time comes to sell it will be a more investment type recognised coin and will sell faster. To me gold is gold in any form I buy bars as well as coins. When I buy bars though I stick with Pamps in assay cards I dont buy bars without the assay cards. I also have many Platinum eagles most are the half ounce size the premium on the eagle plats is high but again, it is a widely recognized bullion coin and will easily sell when the time comes. The way things are going down hill in this world lately I sleep better knowing I have my stash of PMs waiting to bail me out!

1 ounce silver "George the Victorious" from Russia, first minted this year.
(mintage only 50,000 for 2009, but 500,000 is planned for next year)

There are also George the Victorious 1/4 ounce gold coins. They've been made since 2006. Can't get a picture now, I don't have my scanner in here.

In silver coins i have my favourite the 1oz Liberty Silver - Unite for freedom rounds. It's comes in handy for me since i can buy and sell with no spread http://libertysilver.se/libertysilvermynt-c-66.html?language=en

Plus the whole idea with getting people into how the world looks and what monetary system used today is not very good.

I also like the swedish 2 krona http://smallcollecting.com/2kr42.jpg, since i have been collecting them since i was a little kid. It was cool since it has not been in use since the early 70s and was a big coin for a small kid.

Is there a plan to bring another one of these back like the 2001 Silver Buffalo Commem?

that's why i said i hope the mint will produce american buffalo silver version. maybe made it cheaper at 90% silver content. just like the morgan dollar.

i don't see any reasoning for this and it's not likely they will bring this design back. that coin from 2001 also carries a decent numismatic value, TPG slabbed ones currently sell in auctions for $100 easily and upwards of that figure more often than not.

I got a Russian 1 kopek from 2006 with the similar George the Victorious design in change the other day, masquerading as a Ukrainian 1 Kopek that is worth three times as much as the Russian coin, but still is only 5 to the Euro Cent. At least my George coin was a lot less expensive than yours, and the first Russian coin I have gotten in change in Ukraine.

the Autrian Lunar Dragon 2 CROWN really drives me wild. Saw one on ebay for 4 grand! yikes! no thanks. only 2500-300 minted tho. what is the real worth of this coin? There were no bids on the ebay one.

Isle of man with Archangel Michael slaying Satan, the dragon, is another favorite

Also have a thing for 2008 AGB W's and Eagles.

    Good stuff my friends!
