I am thinking of that. I do have 8 of the coins that are ANACS. I would have to cross them to either PCGS, or NGC.

There might also be a non-competitive set option where you can just post pictures (if you didn't want to cross).

I cross coins a couple of times a year. I have a few UK coins that need to be crossed to complete PCGS registry sets, so I could do it then. I have a bunch of UK registry sets that need 1 or 2 coins to complete.

But the work involved to get NGC to accept the PCGS coins is extensive -- a real pain in the neck.
I started to do it and then gave up.

Good to know as I've never tried.
Usually NGC's customer service is pretty good, but this might not be something they prioritize.

You have to give them all the info for the PCGS slab, so have them on hand.

No, it isn't. You post up the PCGS coin's serial number, they ask you a couple of questions and within a business day you coin is up there. if you really own it. I have done it many times.

The bad times were when NGC refused to take PCGS coins, but they reversed that policy.

I essentially bought this 1877 Seated Liberty (with Motto) quarter by accident. I put a bid of only $21 on it to see what happened, and the other 5 bids only pushed it up to $15.50. So here it is. I can keep it in the set for a while and focus on other coins, then upgrade it.

My plan is to reverse this design in the type set, allowing the ribbon with the motto to be seen. The front, after all, looks just like the other Liberty Seated quarters. Here it is in the middle.

That’s a good idea about flipping it.

Today we add two half dollars to the type set.

The first half is an 1848-O Liberty Seated, found for my set by @C-B-D. I don't have many coins from New Orleans.

This one and my other new acquisition are shown here at top right and lower left. I will show the other half in the next post.

The Capped bust was previously shown in the thread Post a 19th century half dollar.
The Barber proof (and its elegant toning) was shown in post #9968.

The second Half is an 1853 Liberty Seated with Arrows and Rays. I am new to this series, but I judge it about XF45.

Here we see the full page devoted to half dollars. I have flipped it over to show the rays.

The 1934 Walking Liberty was shown in post #26227.
The 1959 Proof Franklin was shown in posts #26091 and #26100.

The two Kennedy halves have not been posted before, but I might just take them back out of the album and photograph them for this thread. They are both proofs purchased specifically for the album. Otherwise I don't have any of them.

The mail brought an 1859 Indian Head cent to complete the small cents portion of the album.

I splurged a bit on this one. I wanted something that would give me joy every time I opened the album - and so far all the coins are meeting that simple standard.

I hope I caught enough of the luster in this animation.

This year was a single-year type, without the shield at the top of the wreath. If you expand this image, you can examine the die crack that runs directly through the ribbon at the bottom of the reverse.

There is still one cent that wasn’t posted before. Granted, this is not my favorite coin design. Perhaps showing it in it’s pristine image may let it be appreciated a little bit more than the beat-up ones in your pocket.

A couple of coins have come in that finished off the first page of the type set.

You can see the first two large cents posted individually in posts #26433 and #26434.

Here is how that first page looks. I am pleased with it!

Edit: The second page is also completed, as mentioned in post #26446.
