Coins are a money sinkhole. Given the high buy-sell spread almost all collectors lose money, especially considering inflation. Investments are investments, coins are wasted hobby money. Sure, better than spending all of your hobby money on boating or other activities with NO return, but still not an investment. Absent bullion coins I consider part of my portfolio, I consider every cent spent on coins as wasted money, since I will never sell.
