My read is that there may be a minimum custody fee of $50, a handling fee of $30 and a release fee of $30 plus actual shipping.

Looks like you're right about the minimum $50 custody fee, but the $30 release fee is if they release the assets to (e.g.) an armored carrier or your personally.

    So $862.70 + $50 custody fee + $30 handling fee + yourbestguess for actual shipping, insurance etc = $942.70 + yourbestguess.

Given the hoops and uncertainty over fees, I have a feeling they'll be sitting on these for a while. I was looking for a 6th set but it looks like Apmex is imminent so pass.

Right, it should be 50+30+ actual. So if actual with insurance is 25 you are at 105. 105 + 863 = 968. That is a lotta hoops to jump through.

man I have jumped through some hoops before but I don't think i'm gonna deal with prudential for another set. I think i'll save the rest of my money for the uncirculated versions from the mint. Plus now that Dillion Gage confirmed that puts me at 7 total sets and 5 in hand or on the way, so i'm good. :)

If even YOU can't be bothered with the hoops then they're definitely hosed! I can't believe it took them 4 months to come up with that 3 ring circus  Just surprised the announcement on their site doesn't end with "Nyuk nyuk nyuk".

Even more hoops with Prudential. If they accept your application. They send you a letter to set up an account with a COMPLETELY different company, that will do the "release" and mailing of the ATB.

How long does Dillon Gage take to ship out? I'm curious because the form said 4 - 6 weeks so I was going to pass on the deal because I would be out of town at the time. Are they shipping sooner?

The storage option on the Prudential deal would suit me though.

I sent my wire transfer on Saturday, which means DG received it Monday morning some time. I just received an email from them with an order confirmation and an order number, so hang in there.

Prudential, huh?...maybe I'll do it. APMEX didn't pick me in their lottery...at least not yet. Would seriously rather buy APMEX, but c'est la vie. Well, I'd probably buy both if I had the chance.

Prudential almost figured out how to get some sheep into that exchange of theirs, didn't they? Not to give them ideas, but they could have required a notary public affidavit or something too...maybe swearing to not having bought any other sets for your household. Now that would be evil genius at work. Maybe the next AP (are any left?) will try that!

my brother just sent a DG fax this morning for an order, he was going to the bank to wire when he got a call from them telling him the price is now $950 something.

scratch that , he was confused

Funny you should say that, I was trying to figure that out. Looks like the time is approaching when the secondary market will be the only source for these. I have 6 sets either in hand or on the way. Trying to decide whether to flip 5 and keep 1, or hold all 6 for a few months to see what the price does once the APs dry up. Hmmmmmmm.

    AMark: Sold out
Coins 'n' Things: Sold out (assumed, they took their special website down)
    Dillon Gage: Sold out
    Fidelitrade: Sold out
    Jack Hunt: Sold out
Manfra, Tordella & Brookes: Sold out (assumed, they haven't listed any on Ebay for a while)
    The Gold Center: Sold out

Apmex: On sale, 1,740 sets remaining
Prudential: On sale, quantity remaining uknown

Odd, the downloadable form on their site still says $937 shipped.

Dillon Gage now sold out, amending my prior post to reflect that. So this leaves two APs known to have any left: one of those has 1,740 sets remaining and is currently invitation only while the other has crazy hoops to jump through and an unknown shipping cost.

The secondary market might get interesting in the next week or two, especially with melt now over $1,050 per set.

I hope you are right. My fear is that if you are looking to flip right now the trend has been in a downward trend. You almost need to let some of the supply run it coarse and than flip. I plan on keeping one of my sets.

    rickmp Frequently flatulent.

APMEX has 1730 sets left. If you are on their "alert me" list you can buy them. Log into your account, enter "atb" into the search bar, then click "go!" button, you are now at the order page. No hoops to jump through, either.

The APMEX set is slabbed and graded by PCGS, too!

APMEX notified me by email yesterday and I ordered a set for $979.90 including shipping. I sent my check out that hour. They immediately sent me a confirmation # and they'll be on their way soon enough. They come in PCGS holders, I believe, ungraded.

You can still order them until midnight on Friday (CST) the 15th.

ungraded PCGs... then what's the point of offering PCGs?
