I think the thickness of the 5oz coins should be about 1.3x the thickness of the current ASE. That would &quot;seem&quot; sufficient for edge lettering. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The required pressure relative to the diameter of the coin may be an issue. The affects of the post minted devices may also compromise the rigidity of the coin, also. </p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>If that were the case, I would think they would consider applying the edge lettering first, then minting the coin.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><br /></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>No idea...I suspect they&#039;re gimmicky. GEC plans to sell them on a &quot;First Come, First Serve&quot; basis once they arrive; they&#039;re not taking pre-orders (not from me, anyway).
