<p>
After receiving my 2013 two coin set I decided to compare the EU to my other coins from the previous two years of special sets. The 1st set I opened was my 2011 5 coin set. Right away I noticed that my proof coin in the set had started to tone at the top of the coin. The Mint paper sheet describing what the set contains was still in the box where it was when I received it. </p><p> </p><p>Did this sheet cause the toning? I think so. - All stored under the same conditions.</p><p> </p><p>I quickly opened all of my other ASE proof coins and the only other coins that were starting to show toning were the two proofs in my 2012 special sets. They both also had the mint paper sheet with the coins. All of my other proofs include the sheet but outside of the box that holds the coin capsule. The toning is most noticeable on the 2011 and its a light gold along the top of the coin. Not bad, but not something I really want to progress. I took the sheet out of the 2011 and 2012 boxes and also my new 2013 box. If you still have your coins stored raw the way the mint shipped them to you, you may want to check on them and move the paper sheet to the outer box. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has seen this same issue.</p><p> </p><p>BR ~ Darryl</p><p> </p><p><a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/ASESpecialSetsandProofs1_zpsa1431af0.jpg.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/ASESpecialSetsandProofs1_zpsa1431af0.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/USS656/ASESpecialSetsandProofs1_zpsa1431af0.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a></p><p> </p><p><a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/2011Prooftoning_zpsfc898bee.jpg.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/2011Prooftoning_zpsfc898bee.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/USS656/2011Prooftoning_zpsfc898bee.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a></p><p> </p><p>It's really hard to see on the 2012 but it is there along the top rim of the coin.</p><p> </p><p><a href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/2012Prooftoning_zpsc8c9ca19.jpg.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://s235.photobucket.com/user/USS656/media/2012Prooftoning_zpsc8c9ca19.jpg.html" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee123/USS656/2012Prooftoning_zpsc8c9ca19.jpg" class="bbCodeImage wysiwygImage" alt="" unselectable="on" /></a>
</p><p><br /></p>
