Yeah. Most guys like this I know, (and I do know some guys with at least this much PM), usually are "hard money" guys who basically have ALL of their money in PM. Anyone thinking how "cool" this would be should always remember today, reading this post. Imagine if YOU had all of your money in PM and were about to retire this year. How good would you be feeling right now? Pretty upset? Same can be said of those wishing to retire in early 2009 and had all of their money in stocks, or mid 80's and had all of their money in farmland. NEVER have all of your money tied up in only one asset class. NEVER.

PM WILL come back, just like stocks and farmland came back. However, that does you no good if you need the money NOW, and cannot wait for 5-10 years, right?

I have said it before, it just feel weird saying this here. I am used to trying to tell people in stocks to diversify, that they should be buying PM and land. It just so happens on CT its the opposite, too many people like PM too much, and are TOO far diversified away from traditional investments. Oh well, same argument works both ways. In the 2000's I was really glad I owned PM, in the last 5 years I am really glad I owned farmland, and this year I am really glad I kept stocks. Spread your bets around and you shouldn't get hosed totally come what may.
