Anyone collect American Gold Eagles?

Do any of you guys collect American Gold Eagles? I have about 6 or so of the 1/4 size, such beautiful coins! I can't wait to grab a 2013 1/4.

I have a few 1oz between '87 and '10 including a couple '06w. also some 1/2oz including the '07w unc and '08w unc. also one 1/4oz '07w unc. nice coins but I lean towards the .999 gold now. or the Saints over modern Eagles. they're all good.

 

At one time I had a small lot of them, but unfortunately about this time last year I sold 'em.... still have the pictures to enjoy though

fyi: these are the 1/10 ouncers.

 

I have only one and it is the 1/4 ounce. I actually inhereted it from my dad who bought it back in the 1980's for considerably less money than it is worth today.

Otherwise, I just can't afford any gold eagles. I can barely afford silver ones. That is why I mostly collect junk silver.

Where is the best place to pick up 1/10 oz coins?

 

sometime's it's cheapest just as cheap to get a proof at the local coin shop. if you're just getting one
. the usual suspects, goldmart, provident, gainesville, etc

 

Thanks for the info. I can't justify buying an ounce at a time, but would like to start picking up 1/10 oz coins and be able to add without breaking the bank.

 

in the long run you'll have a pocketful instead of a suitcase full. and nothing shines like gold.

 

I like Gold but at this point cannot afford it. I prefer buying some nice silver coins. Mainly because I love old silver coins but also because in the cast that the SHTF i can still easily trade/barter with them.
