As to the rumor concerning collusion amongst the largest coin dealers, my response would be to wary of rumors from "someone who knows someone". It sounds like nonsense to me. I can't imagine that any reputable dealer would risk destroying their reputation by attempting to get involved in something like this. It would destroy their business where there are no doubt significant amounts of money being made in non-silver items.

How did this employee of the store hear all about this collusion? Did the owner set him down and say, here is something I want you to share with the coin club members tonight? Or were they just talking and it came up in conversation? Did the owner seam shocked by what he heard or just skeptical and think it was someone pulling his leg? After the employee made these statements public, did he offer recommendations on action the club members should take? Besides publishing it here, who else has been informed. How long has this employee been an active member? To anyone's knowledge, has there ever been any friction between the employee or the owner that might prompt a rumor for the sake of retaliation? I think there is a long way to go before judgments and conclusions can be made. And these are just some of the questions that need answers.
