    NGC Fee Update

Just spoke with NGC and they said it is a flat $17 per coin regardless of whether you want ER or not, because the 25th Anniversary Set labels still fall under the Modern Special service. So my earlier post suggesting a $14 fee is incorrect, sorry about that.

So if it is $17.00 p/coin then the set comes out to be $85.00 If you send them the 5 sets that would be $85 X 5 = $425.00 plus the shipping whatever it might be, right? If that is the case, then I would do as:hail: goldmember :hail:suggests; "...,is to have them all graded, but pay the extra $1 to have the OGP returned so I can crack one set out and return them to OGP."

Selling 4 sets at around $600.00 to $700.00 each ($2,600.00) will cover the expenses and then again more. This way you get to keep the MS/PF set.

In other words, here I go NGC!!!!

Yes, it is more money, but with my luck if I had them pull out one set to not grade, it would be the 70 set. I think I should have plenty of 69s or lower that I won't feel bad about cracking out of the slabs and returning to OGP. And the whole grading thing is taking a chance on getting 70s since I don't think 69s will be worth more in slabs than OGP.

And even if you aren't returning a set to OGP, you should have it returned since the boxes will probably sell for $30-50 on ebay. It will be worth the extra shipping back.

    Morning all,

I decidded to join up with PCGS to send my sets to. Tried to submit them for grading online last night and it keeps giving me an "invalid coin number" when I try to enter it into their online forum... Anyone else having these issues?
    Thanks!

Edit for question. Can someone tell me what the turn around time is normally for NGC?

Checked the website, they est. # is 21 days, they say the current is 26. I hear they are taking very long these days.

Thanks! I got my set an hour ahead of schedule. It's still sitting in the box. I can't pull the trigger either way.

I'm going to open mine. I don't want the hassle, risk or cost of submitting the coins. From what I've heard and seen the packaging is extremely nice. I think so many will be graded, there will not be very many original sets in the OGP.

Yep, I had the same issue and I believe everyone did that tried the online form through their site. You'll have to use the printed form option but you can type in some of the information including the coin numbers, qty, etc...

I opened my box, super nice, glad I didn't grade though.

RP has a shadowy thing all under top rim on Rev.
Bullion has 3 small continuous dings on rim of one side.
S unc. has a dot-thing on the coin, not a spot, something raised, but inside the holder and on the coin.
