2010 Gold Eagle Proof Coin Product Sells Out from CoinNews.net [10/31/2010] The four-coin, which also contains the one-ounce coin remains in stock, there is a mintage limit of 39k four-coin sets.
I just placed an order for 1 im on the waiting list, do you think these will fetch a good premium in the near future?
depends partly on what the price of gold does over the next 3-4 years. if the same market persists they could do well quickly, but finding buyers may become even more difficult. such coins are meant for collectors not to be bought for investment. the four coin set are still available and as a set will have the lowest mintage of 39k sets. those could do the best in the long run if kept in original packaging, but playing the mintage game is risky in and of itself. with collector versions you should mainly be buying for your collection and because you enjoy them, the premiums on these coins are a huge percentage marked up from the coins intrinsic bullion value. just some things to consider.
What was the total mintage for 1oz proof? Several weeks ago I believe i read it was around 69,000 is this correct?
11/03/10 APMEX is selling 2010 proofs w/ box & COA for the following prices 1 oz 1804 1/2 927 1/4 488 1/10 260 -------------- $3,479.xx the four coin set is selling for $3,357.00. I paid $2,942.95, inc s/h for four coin album To (possibly) enhance my investment I'll pick up individual box/album and COA for each coin. BTW, I suspect the mint is recycling proof albums because the brass plating on the latches on the two four coin albums I received was damaged.
Still on sale at the US Mint vs Apmex for same product, 4-coin 2010 gold proof AGE: US Mint: $2,938 APMEX: $3,357 WOW! Over $400 mark up! AP-insanity-MEX!
Modern Coin mart is selling the 2009 UHR w/ mint box and COA for $1,799.00 . last year I bought mine from the mint for $1,189.00. APMEX - 2009-W (1 oz PROOF) Gold Buffalo - w/ Box & COA $1,705.00 last year bought one from mint for $1,364.95 inc s/h. Don't know if increase in prices is due to only higher cost of gold. edit: the UHR has increased in collector value not just gold price.
"I just placed an order for 1 im on the waiting list, do you think these will fetch a good premium in the near future?" at this point, you'll receive a coin that someone else returned. Check the coin and the packaging carefully.
