    From Vanuatu it's just a short canoe ride over to Fiji! At least for the locals; I don't think I could manage it. In any case, a 1982 one-cent - Fiji's contribution to the FAO (KM 39).

    What an interesting coin! I couldn't find it in any Kaiser catalog I own but I found it on Numista - "Private issue by J.F. Kjølbro in Klaksvík" in 1930 to 1933. Where'd you get it? Do you know anything about it? Thanks for sharing and thanks in advance for any interesting tidbits.

    I purchased it from a coin seller on ebay. I didn't know it existed until I found it while searching for some of the government issue WWII coins. I found this article with the interesting history of Kjølbro in Klaksvík. There is specific mention of the purpose of these issues on page 6...
