    If I may consider Manchuria as being in what is now known as China, then a bordering country now called India contains an area or province called Mysore. I therefore present to you a so called Tipu Sultan paisa from Mysore State, identified as being from the Nagar mint. Supposedly dates from 1799. 1799 Nagar 1 p obv.JPG 1799 Nagar 1 p rev.JPG

    It is what we now call Vietnam. The coin (KM #403, 1848 - 1883) was issued under the rule of Tự Đức (22 September 1829 – 17 July 1883) before the French took over.
