This is just a question for my edification regarding the rule: 2. If a country is on the ocean then any country across the ocean is acceptable as long as there is a direct, straight line between them with no intervening countries. In the above post I posted a coin from Denmark since it is physically adjacent to Sweden; could I, however, have posted this coin: a 1922 Latavia 2 Santimi since it is across the Baltic? with no intervening nation, except maybe the island of Saaremaa.
@techwriter . . . Yes, sir. That sounds consistent with my understanding of the rules, as well as consistent with how I've seen it play out here. Have a great weekend! David
Moving to Austria, the Eastern Realm, from Germany! I submit to the Forum this 1,000-kronen dated 1924 (KM 2834). If interested in such stuff, check out https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5743.html for the lowdown on the right-facing Tyrolean countess.
I bet you thought I was going to do Germany, eh? I did. But nope; Luxembourg! A 1971 10-francs (KM 57).
To me there is something special about those Civil War era coins. That one is a beauty. Here is one from Canada, 1910 AR 10 cents
