Belgian Congo. A newp recently acquired from @spirityoda. Play from the borders of the modern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Haha, jump across the pond and back again. I like it. Morocco! An extremely rare coin, with less than 5 known:
United States to China, this coin is a cash from the Northern Song Dynasty. It's got my favorite blue toning, result of being a river found coin.
How about this - a contemporary counterfeit of a coin from the French protectorate of Tonkin (now, part of Vietnam). If contemporary counterfeits are allowed....
If counterfeits aren't allowed, I'll play this coin from French IndoChina (which is also... now part of Vietnam). So, double hitter to get to the same place:
How did you determine it is a counterfeit? Signs of casting? At one time Yoeman's "Catalog Of Modern World coins" reported that coins less than 1mm thick were counterfeit. Later editions of the catalog revised that and reported that those were real and the thicker coins were piedforts. I have one that is slabbed. I purchased that because the uncirculated coin I bought back if the 70's started to show signs of oxidation. Darn zinc.
