All righty then. Here's a 1966 - the Gambia - penny. It was part of British West Africa, right? But coin_nut's BWA says Nigeria. Y'all make the call if this is a valid submission - or not.
I would call it good. BWA covered a lot of different countries - Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone. Referring to DEA's Gambia penny.
Bermuda. A souvenir from a childhood family vacation. My first ride on an airplane. I was sitting at JFK impatiently waiting to get on the plane when my older brother told me we had to wait until the glue dried on one of the wings.
We'll just zing back across the Atlantic on over to Morocco! A 1947 20-francs (Y 45). So, did the glue hold well enough?
The glue held up nicely. I don't remember much about the flight. I have a lot of memories of Bermuda though. There was an issue with tar balls on the beaches and all of the hotels wanted people to use a cleaner with a distinct aroma to keep from tracking oil on their feet into the hotels. The odor wasn't unpleasant, but it was strong and in the air everywhere we went it seemed. Oh, and Three Dog Night must have just released the song "Joy To The World" because everywhere we went with a radio within earshot rang out with "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was a good friend of mine..." Back on topic from Morocco to Gibraltar. A coin I picked up at a flea market in Spain on my second vacation via airplane with my parents four years later. Took years to identify it because it wasn't in my coin book "A Catalog of Modern World Coins" by R.S. Yeoman. I still have the book but it is held together with masking tape.
And once again, I'm taking us to Andorra. I don't think I used this one the last time. For some god-awful reason, I'm tickled by these European micro-states. Andorra, Liechtenstein and San Marino . . . I suppose the Vatican should be added, too.
From Holland (or Netherlands) we hop on over to Germany. Ten Deutsche Mark, 1988D (Federal Republic of Germany - KM 168).
From Deutschland I take us to the Saarland - which - at the time - was under the eye of the French. A 1954 20-franken (KM 2). So, I guess the only potential options from here are France, Luxembourg or back to Germany. Unless everyone concurs that Saarland is Germany . . . .
I supposedly have a very similar coin coming, a 50 Franken. Back to Germany would be verboten, according to the rules of this thread, so I will go with this 1855 Luxembourg 5 centimes. .
