Andrew: Thanks for the advice but I already have 2 degrees pendjo

Leigh: If I mail you a hat will you get Phil Ivy to autograph it for me :) ? Also is Durr aka Tom Dawan as small as he appears on TV? Poker is really fun. do you play mixed games or is their a particular game you play. I think Omaha is going to be the game of the future as the holdem boom dies off.

Sircharlie: I was reading where a dudes going to jail in FL for manipulating penny stocks: He set up six companies. One would buy a stock that was supper low. Then he would keep buying at differnt price levels with 4 copmanies to drive it up. Then wait for the public to jump on board, and the the final killer he would use the last company to short sell it and dump all the holdings of the other 4 companies. Producing supper proffit. I guess thats why it is illegal.

jaceravone: No I work for a small software firm. They don't have a 401K plan or anything. They pay good and it is high end busniess software so it is not a bad tradeoff.

Cloud: Cool, thanks for the advice. I guess number 2 it is :). Didn't you say one time you are a stock broker?

yakapo: I like the line of thinking you have. Also an answer like yours was kinda the intent of this thread. T is a great one. I put 600 in BC back in march and it has treated me well. I work in the marine industry and so I just happen to "know" a lot about it. So I guess it works with the "only invest in busniess you understand" line of thinking. I read warrens book on ballance sheets, well I think his wife wrote it, and have had lots of free advice form MBAs and fromer stock brokers that I worked with.

Go buy a car. At least you'll have fun with it, and when you go to sell it, you'll probably make just as much (loss of course) as if you'd invested anywhere else. If you're in hurry, buy bonds. You'll double your money with no risk involved in 7 years.

No. A stockbroker would never tell you what I told you.

It sounds like he is exactly where he belongs. It's not illegal to make money in the stock market, you just need to know what you're doing. The stock market crash this year has been a prime opportunity for a lot of millionaires to be made. If you have the cash, these kind of opportunities don't come around very often. I bought a truckload of ELN just a few days ago and I'm already up several thousand.
Good luck whatever you decide. Gold made a big jump today!

I used to see Phil Ivey all the time when he lived and played in Atlantic City. These days he just stops by to play craps for an hour or two. I have never seen Tom Dwan in person but I think he is pretty scrawny.

The problem with the mixed games is they are only offered in the high limits, usually $100-$200 and up. Every once in a while they will spread an HO (holdem-omaha8) or OE (omaha8-stud8) game in the $10-$20 limit, but that is a little too low for me. The last time I played $2-$5 PLO (pot limit omaha), I got stacked with middle set by top set.

I don't think Omaha will ever gain huge popularity because it is too difficult for the average poker player to understand. PLO is brutal, and Omaha H/L is even worse with all of redraws. I love the players in with a naked A-2 raising a pot they can only get 1/4 of, makes me laugh.

I primarily play $20-$40 hold-em and will occasionally play $40-$80. When I go to Vegas, I play $30-$60. That is my game of choice and the game that best suits my skill level and bankroll. The problem is that Atlantic City only spreads $20-$40 & $40-$80.

Well everyone I decided the first thing im going to invest in is myself. I am going to quite smokeing after 13 years. Yeah I know im only 25 alabama is a crazy place. I am going to spend 150 bucks a month on chantix plus I have to start taking zoloft because apparently it can cause some real bad mental disorders and my dock thinks it will be good for me. Has anyone had experiance with any of these two drugs.

Ricky: yeah I know I spell about as well as a first grader :)

Leigh: That must be a fun lifestyle. I like to play plo. It is such a great game because people play to loose for some reason. Well I think I know why, but it is def supper ev. That is ruff that you have to play 20/40 instead of 30/60 that is a **** load of lossed EV. My brother and best friend fancy themselves pros, but they play 2/4 and 3/6 online. It is not 60k stacks, but at 3 or 4 bbs a 100 they make a decent living for twenty somethings. I play 1/3 and 2/5 when I go to the casions. If you are ever in the deep south. The Beau Revage in MS has a 10/20 plo game that is saposed to be supper juciey. It is also a supper supper nice casino. Steve Wynn built it.

coleguy: I have two cars ones a 2000 530 , which for 10K anyone can buy, it has 120K miles and is in great shape, and the other is an 09 tarus, The Tarus is just as nice as the 530 except it drives more like a lexis and lacks a stearing wheel warmer :( so i'm good on cars. Bonds are all right, but I don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to invest. One day I will though...

Yakapo: Yeah H/L games are kinda lame. Do you like to play razz at all?

SirCharlie: Yeah securites frud is no good. I defently have not moral problems with captialism. The arguments made by marxist are sometimes interesting though form an ethical perspective.
