What a way to start! 2 Silvers 1945 & 1945D. Some interesting foreigns. 1944 20 Rappen, and a 1981 Bermuda. A lower mintage of 13.5 million 1946S and a couple of nice gold toners. Three 2009's but all 2009D (common for my area never any from Philadelphia) Nine AU/BU coins and 16 pre 60 dated.

All in all I would say this was a decent box.

Cool! I have gotten Swiss rappen (but not that early), and that same Bermuda fish type, believe it or not. Congrats on the Warnicks! Been a long time since I've captured one from the wild.

It’s in your picture. Maybe it was the purple toned coin you mentioned?

Oh my... My mistake. Yeah it's just a nice toned nickel. I usually don't post toned coins as I can never get the picture to show the colors. Nothing special tho.

Definitely! I'm hoping after 500 boxes I get 10+ rolls of silver! Looks like we are on track so far. Very early tho.

I would think that if you search 500 boxes, you'll have yourself a complete set or two of Jeffersons and a decent dent in a Buffalo set. I suspect that I probably only searched a quarter of that over many years and built up a few sets and a nearly complete Jefferson Nickel Roll Set. Good luck on the hunt! So far my favorites are the 1942D (hard to build a roll from circulation) and the 2000D.

Wonder if any V-nickels will turn up.

  20. Kevin Mader

I fully expect that it'll happen. They usually come in bunches; collection dumps. I once had a box where there were 11 V-nickels and 26 Buffalo nickels. Oddly enough, no Silver War Nickels, but in the second box I picked up there were rolls of 1960s BU nickels with many 1964 and 1968 DDOs/DDRs. I suspect with 500 boxes, our fellow enthusiast will find similar clusters. This could be a really exciting challenge. Typically, I set myself up for an annual challenge to kick off the New Year and I recommend that other CRH enthusiasts do the same. Putting the stats together helps build understanding and setting future, realistic expectations. Good stuff!!
