P.S. The cloudy smudges are just photo reflections....the coins and the glass encasement look pristine.
High Relief.....Just noticed that the very concave and high relief nature of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle coin makes it much smaller than the much flatter non-high relief Snake coin. Check 'em out.......
Confirmed.....just using a tape measure to get a guestimate, the Wedge-Tailed Eagle is 50 mm in diameter, the Snake is about 65 mm across.
They're Back !!! Seeing some 5-ouncers like the Wedge-Tailed Eagle for not much more than silver content in PF-69 and 10-20% for the 70's. Other 5-ouncers have the 70's still a bit more, up to 100% premium to silver content. The Libertad's are always pricier, 69's are 100-150% and 70's 200-300%. Wow..... Oh yeah...the Apollo 11 50th Anniversaries are still ridiculously priced 6 years after Covid started !!
Yup, I thought that too...and probably is safer.... but not guaranteed, yes. So what happens ? One of my older Morgan's develops an ugly (not good-looking toning) black splotch on it. Totally teed me off.
Sorry to hear that. It's possible it was improperly dipped before you bought it or something in the environment didn't jive with the coin. Was anything else in the same place as the Morgan and if so, did any of those coins change appearance?
Seems like the 1 ounc coins....MS or PF-70 grade....commemoratives and NCLT....are going for about 100-120% premium to silver, $100-$12. Bunch of Wedge-Tailed Eagles at GC last night went for just over $100.
