    For all the CTers who posted their grades and are missing just a couple singles to fill out their sets, surely some CTer has posted 99 cent starts in the auction section by now....

    PS: you can figure out my results by the auctions. I held back on 3 sets; 2 70s (one for each of us) and one all 70s but the S. (I paid for the grading so I get the 3rd set!)

    I had a W Uncirculated coin come back from NGC as a MS67. It had a series of marks on the obverse, which is why the low grade.

    My 5 sets just showed up as received by NGC, today. But the USPS showed delivery confirmation & signed for on Dec. 5th. Will these be considered arrived for the Early Release Label?

    I think the cut off was Dec 7th so you should be OK.

    Pcgs first strike report

    PCGS report for FIRST STRIKE

    PR70 = 3,346 (55%)
    PR69 = 2,625

    2011-S total graded 6,065
    MS70 = 3,229 (53%)
    MS69 = 2,724

    2011-W proof - total graded 5,864
    PR70 = 3,282 (56%)
    PR69 = 2,391

    2011-W - total graded 5,823

    MS69 = 2,129

    2011 no mint mark - total graded 5,858
    MS70 = 3,229 (55%)
    MS69 = 2,459

    Looks like we have a lot of NGC submissions 16,000 compared to only 6,000 for PCGS.
    With that numbers we are looking at only 3,000 complete 70 sets for PCGS and
    NGC has 10,000 complete 70 sets.
    By early next year, probably we will end up with 6,000 PCGS 70 sets compared to 20,000 NGC 70 sets.
    Thats a BIG gap. Do you think the prices will have that big gap between PCGS 70 and NGC 70?

    I think there will be a gap but not in that proportion. I do however think it will put pressure on the price of 69 sets for both third party graders to close to an OGP set with the only slight premium being for certification that the three non-distinct coins would be certified from the original 25th anniversary set.

    @beemer865
    I think there will be a big gap unless NGC starts to be strict with their grades. Currently, when someone submits 5 sets to NGC they are almost guaranteed to get 3 NGC 70 sets but when they submit that to PCGS they will probably get 1 PCGS 70 set or 2 if they are lucky. Who knows what the final numbers will be but with this rate I won't be surprised to see a gap of more than 10,000.

    @bringmedown -

    You may be right. I guess it depends on how you define "big gap" - absolute dollars or percentage. Once the flood of sets thins out I was thinking the NGC 70 sets should reasonably be around at least $1,400 ($400 for the S coin, $600 for the RP and say $125 for the other 3). If PCGS 70 sets remain low could they move up to $2,000 - sure. $600 difference but 42% higher than the NGC set so yes a big gap. I don't think the absolute dollar difference will spread further (like double for a PCGS set) as certain people always collect NGC to keep their set consistent or would just stop buying PCGS sets if they were only being offered at double the NGC price. Time will tell. :) I hope they both stay up!

    My results for 5 sets.

    Reverse Proof: 2x69, 3x70

    "S": 2x69, 3x70

    Proof: 3x69UCAM, 2x70UCAM

    "W": 1x68, 4x70

    Bullion: 1x69, 4x70

    The 68 on the W is more than fair. It has a major nick on the left leg that can be seen in the picture below. I am satisfied with getting two 70 sets, although I wish that I could have just gotten that last 70 in the proof to get three complete 70s.
