Thanks for the head's up, he's now on my list. There's a lot of predatory activity on Ebay and you have to be very careful. But as far as the neg, you can file a claim with Ebay to have it removed. If they find you did nothing to deserve such a rating, it will be removed. Ever since Ebay removed the ability of sellers to neg FB buyers, they've become much better and policing bad buyers.

I had a buyer try to out and out rip me off. He bought a coin, paid for it, I sent it and about an hour after I got back from the PO he said he didn't want it and wanted me to refund him his money right now. And that he would, when he received the coin (a $1200 coin, btw) he would send it back. Well, needless to say there was no chance in XXXX that I was going to give him his money back before the coin was returned to me. He also went ballistic so I called Ebay and while I was on hold, the rep called the buyer to inform him of Ebay policy. It took about 15 min before the rep came back on and said he was a real piece of work and that the rep had to hang up on him. The buyer started yelling at the rep telling him that he knew more about ebay policy than both of us combined, blah, blah, blah..., so the rep had to hang up on him and told me under NO circumstances was I to refund him a cent w/o receiving my coin back. Which of course I wouldn't have anyway.

I googled his name and I found several coin forums describing this same buyer and the scams he was pulling on them. Sadly, one guy wrote that he ended up losing some $1400 to this guy while others had to battle it out with Ebay to get their money back. Ebay, in a rare show of support, disallowed the buyer from putting any feed back on the sale and eventually then the coin did come back, he got his money back. He's been kicked off Ebay but I'm told his ID was his wife's and his original ID was nuked a few years ago. So I'm sure he's still out there only now using a completely new ID. Sad, isn't it?
