Hello. I just received a 20g perth mint gold bar. This was purchased online from JM Bullion.

I have been reading a lot about fakes today and am alarmed. I have no way to verify authenticity. I assume JM is considered to be a trustworthy vendor?

One issue with the bar. It has a tiny imperfection in the matte finish. Under a loop on that spot it almost looks like the matte isn't uniform or is slightly worn off exposing more of a mirror finish underneath it. Is this indicative of a fake? I can't get a photo the area is just too small to photograph.

JM is trustworthy. At the very least they will buy it back from you when you want to sell.

Don't worry about it, they won't all be perfect and a seller that size is likely bulk ordering them directly from Perth
