Some do not like the hiker, but I do. I have hiked and rode horses through the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley as a kid. It brings back many fond memories. TC
Yep, I got my email today too - shipped 5/22. I was getting a little anxious, the email didnt arrive until 9:20pm. I was kinda hoping it would have shipped today. Can't wait to get it so I can quickly hide it away in my safe like the greedy miser that I am... I never even showed the Great Smoky Mtn coin to my wife or kids last time. Each 5oz coin goes in the mint packaging into its own Ziploc freezer bag. Warm and happy.
Mine shipped yesterday and I have to totally agree a subscription to these is the best deal out there.
Congrats! Mines "out for delivery" and due any minute now. It's like watching for Santa. C'mom Mr. Postman, bring me a 70.
Well, just arrived and it may be a 70. Wasn’t happy with the amount of lint inside the capsule, so had to open it to blow off. These are tough to open and I hate having to open them, but all went well and practically lint free now and headed to the SDB.
I am going to have to do that too. That lint is really annoying. Next questionnaire I get from the Mint I am going to tell them to use better quality materials for the lining of the box.
I think my Shenandoah puck might have another hiker. Check out this larger attached image. I circled what looks to be another hiker (maybe a woman). I cannot find this additional hiker in any stock photo. BTW: Before anyone asks, I have not started drinking yet today. lol TC
Your hiker looks like Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Her arm seems to be sticking out of the rock! And no, I'm not drinking either.... Here's another question. On the main hiker, is it his left leg that is bent/forward? Or is it his right leg? I honestly cant tell, even with the hi-res photo you provided....
The more I drink the more the second hiker starts looking like Jesus. Maybe I should put it up for sale on eBay. There is a neurological mechanism for this phenomenon called pareidolia. http://www.nbcnews.com/science/weird-science/why-its-perfectly-normal-see-jesus-toast-n101511
