Mine came in as well. I've been looking forward to this one ever since the series was announced, as Arches National Park is one of my favorite places to visit.
Got mine yesterday and I like it a lot. My only complaint is very evident in the pics above - the way the die was made makes the foreground melt into the background where the arch and the background intersect - looks like a line across the entire face. Just not enough "depth of focus"... though I don't know that anything could be done about it.
Arg, what has been seen cannot be unseen... I never noticed that but now it's obvious and I can't not see it. <sigh> I guess because I've been there and know what it actually looks like in my mind I was applying the separation (depth) automatically. Oh well, it's still one of my favorite places to visit.
Does any one have their collector set in one of those expensive 10 draw wooden boxes they sell on ebay and apmex? They look really nice but they are high. I don't like how you have to change out the mint capsule though so it'll fit.
Thanks jwitten i noticed on page 1 of this thread that there are some forum members here from utah.Im going to purchase a 70 bullion version from an authorized purchaser great design.
This is actually a cool puck, with low lighting it really brings out the background features on this coin. I approve.
Here's a picture that I took of this arch years ago right at sunset. It remains one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. It's not from the same vantage point as was used for the coin, but from the other side of the arch instead. Here's the "classic" arch shot: Also, if you watched the Hulk movie (one of the earlier ones, from 2003) there is a scene where the Hulk bounds around the bowl below the arch while being chased by military helicopters...
thanks for the pics it looks great, I guess I need to order even at the higher price where I did not sign up for a subscription in time.
