And who is this &quot;Dnar&quot; you speak of?</p><p><br /></p><p>My point about their optimism, their &quot;positive manner&quot; as you put it, is&nbsp;&nbsp; that it does have a negative effect on the perceived value in the&nbsp; after&nbsp; market of these coins, that their posting only serves to keep&nbsp; their idle&nbsp; hands occupied until their orders arrive and/or the next new&nbsp; thing&nbsp; emerges for sale, and causes the Mint to think they can keep&nbsp; asking&nbsp; higher and higher retail knowing what will happen shortly after&nbsp;&nbsp; collectors get their orders placed. Dealers know it too and keep asking&nbsp; for more and more from these products that they easily resell for profit&nbsp; due to consumer confusion over limited status, perfect grades and what&nbsp; something is worth. These are the points that seem to escape&nbsp; so many&nbsp; people committed to this &#039;price posting&#039; (not really, watching)&nbsp;&nbsp; activity. As I stated before, they only <i>watch</i> for numbers that&nbsp;&nbsp; are increasing and only post when they find higher and higher values.&nbsp; Of&nbsp; course these folks dislike being told the high prices are not&nbsp;&nbsp; necessarily a true and accurate value or that there may also exist lower&nbsp;&nbsp; prices realized that they didn&#039;t &quot;watch&quot;. I&#039;ve brought this topic up in the past&nbsp; and have gone back and forth about this with people such as Danr and&nbsp; Fretboard in other threads, going back a couple years of activity on&nbsp; this forum. That I reply to their posts does not mean I am singling them&nbsp; out for an attack. They are the active participants and I have the&nbsp; opposite debate to make, and do so with what they provide as fodder for&nbsp; discussion. In fact, while I stated the current&nbsp; levels being posted didn&#039;t much warrant the effort for the sale, I DID&nbsp; ask Danr, to post a sales result if/when he found a retail figure that&nbsp; had doubled. I clarified that that wasn&#039;t some acceptable bar for doing&nbsp; so, but that that level began to warrant the effort of flipping a&nbsp; product, which would start to interest me if I were contemplating a sale&nbsp; of the same thing. Now how is that telling someone not to post an&nbsp; aftermarket sales figure...&nbsp; What I did with my comments and thoughts&nbsp; was to illustrate how celebratory gun fire shot into the air often&nbsp; results in fatalities when one least expects it, think about it.&nbsp; Praising prices can and does have certain side effects that diminish&nbsp; what this thread enjoys.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>Not at all, you have used this out of the context I gave for posting figures ABOUT bullion IN THE Bullion Investing forum. </p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>I didn&#039;t become upset, as you put it. On one hand, I defended that CT needed a bullion ticker widget on the site and that until they had one installed we would be seeing folks posting bullion prices. </p><p><br /></p><p>You may go deeper and see the elongated conversation I had with a prolific poster who is no longer active on this forum, whom I often refuted posts in those threads for the very same reasons I gave here. Similarly there was a lot of &quot;positive&quot; glee and enthusiasm to post only higher and higher PM prices, but a lack of commitment to admit and post anything lower. I however, posted both higher and lower, gave linked sources for information and replied when addressed by others. </p><p><br /></p><p>Those were great threads and they attempted to address a lot of the hype and mania of rising PM prices.
