Well said. This thread has really taken on another life of its own. Back to the original topic: has anyone else besides TopCatCoin seen their order status change to 'in process' with the cancel boxes deleted? (mine has not) It will be interesting to see if more of us who ordered early see the same happen tomorrow (a business day). I too wonder if the mint is just being very conservative with the published late July start to shipping. Would provide a real shock to the prices of these 'pre-sales'and such on Ebay if people can get their hands on the coins sooner.

 

Meh, price watch is over, you can buy it for $150 smackers from the Mint directly for the next 20 something days..

 

My order now states, "One unit backordered, expected to ship on 27 July 2012".

 

I bet I can order mine on July 5th and mine will be shipped on July 27th as well.

Mine's backordered, expected to ship on the 27th of July........Think about it for a second guys. If the Mint manufactures 500,000 of these things and everybody's order states 'expected to ship 27 July', do you really think they're (mint) going to send them all out the same day? I think some will be shipped out sooner.

I haven't ordered yet either and I'm beginning to talk myself out of it -- darn it. I have the 2006 and 2011 sets, so my head keeps asking me if I really need this set, since it will be the runt of the litter, relatively speaking. Oh, well. We'll see.

I haven't talked myself out of it yet but the excitement has definitely waned in me. As the deadline to order nears, I'm sure my interest will peak again but for now, I kind of like watching the units sold counter. My interest is really in the reverse since I have collected the other reverse ASE's already. I guess I'll buy anything with a reverse in it. Boy, am I a born sucker. :yes:

 

Runt or not, it's still a 'must have' for me. This reverse proof issue will be the most numerous of all reverse coins issued to date and will more than likely be available in the aftermarket for moderate prices, but the 'kid' in me doesn't want to wait. As you guys straddle the fence in your efforts to decide, my decision is made.........

 

I still haven't ordered either, I have 10 sets of 2006 and 2011, want to see the mintage before I decide to order or not.

 

don't think i'll order either, might even sell my 20th and 25th set! getting really hard not to lose interest in the US Mint

 

I talked to the US MINT. they said early orders will be shipped in july. and orders from here on out will be shipped in september.

website now showing "Product will be available for shipping 09/28/2012"

 

9/28 Wow that's a long time to wait for an item, I wonder if the mint will produce a 2012 S mint silver eagle this year?

 

i wish the mint will deliver those sets to me by next year. so i can safe space.
