Charles.....you and I both know the drill regarding the mints' antiquated ordering system. We've been buying stuff from them for goodness knows how long, and when a potentially popular issue comes up for sale we know enough to log on early and keep pluggin'. Lots of folks that tried to order these sets were uninitiated in the mint machinations, and they were left behind in the process. Experience will leave them better equipped to deal with the next major and potentially popular issue....

Duke is indeed correct. Someones got to be left out in the cold. I'm sorry that so many collectors that wanted these were shut out. The speculators have always been a bane to this hobby of ours, and yet, there's always going to be someone trying to make a quick buck on things. Free enterprise and the capitalistic system. Should we make it more equal? Should we guarantee that everyone gets one? If that were the case I wouldn't want one, as the dang thing would be worthless (to me) indeed......or, I'd buy it in the aftermarket for about fifty percent less than mint issue price.

Sure the Mint knows these guys are out there. But there is no way that they can police it. You get 50 or 60 HSN employees that order these sets looking the same as you and me trying to order these sets. Nothing distinguishes them. Nothing sends up a red flag.
