Others, including myself, felt that the mint was not being honest with their explanation regarding their decision to not make the proofs. Simply put.....I think it is indeed low class for them to make no effort at all regarding the 09 proofs. Why not at least realease a very low amount of them? I know.....they did not even have enough planchets to pump out say....10,000 of them. (as I laugh sarcastically)

I know people who have every silver and gold proof eagle from 86 on up.....EXCEPT for the 09s....and they were steaming. It`s trivial in the grand scheme of life, but still something that I think the mint should have made an attempt to rectify. (other than the release of the 09 gold buffalo, etc)
I can fully understand your position, as well as others, in terms of the 09 Eagle not being released. I maintail all the Eagles, from 86', but wasn't "steaming". I knew there was nothing I could do about it, so what should I do cry. No, you place it behind you, and move on. As far as the possibility of releasing a 09' version, in the future, is highly unlikely. I've never heard where the U.S. Mint released a prior (missing) date in forthcoming years. If it did occur, I know nothing about it. What does it really mean though, that the Mint did not release the 09' Eagle? Again, it means absolutely nothing. To think in terms of trying to influence the U.S. mint, would be foolish. The Mint is a business, like any other; to make money. From time to time, the U.S. Mint will entice us to purchase, maybe more so the customers they have lost, due to these issues. All in all, if you dance with the devil, be prepared to fall at any time, not you per say, but anyone. The coin dealers know this the best, and have learned through this process. If you really knew how they conducted business, I would hope that you would not participate. American Rare Coin, whom I have had many dealings with, (owner) said, " Coin dealers have no soul". This was the owner telling me that. It is really not the game that you play, but how you play the game. Unfortunately, the coin business is not by kindergarten measures, or for the faint of heart. I could elaborate further, but it would only lead unto another issue, in which you would not be interested in; for not many are.
