2011 ASE 25th Anniversary Set (A25) - Order thread

The initial confirmation says it is on hold and backordered to 11/11/11.
Does that indicate it might be on a waiting list?

If it's "held", the mint is waiting to confirm that your method of payment will clear.
If you are on a waiting list, your order will say you're on the waiting list.
Everyone is "backordered" until the listed shipping date.

My order number at 6:50PM was 38402XXX.

 

The mint itself says they went about 25,000 sets an hour.

As for the original post, I can tell you how many were sold: 100k
There were no more to sell, and we know they sold out.

 

I finally got thru at 5:02 ET. My 2 sets are "On Hold", scheduled to ship on 11/11.

3836 is close..it should make it though

 

My dad managed to snag a set around 3:45 today, backordered it says, the website says Nov. 10, but the email says the 11th. I am happy just to have gotten one, I underestimated the strength of thousands of coin collectors. A difficult but obvious decision, though, must be made. Either I pay for it and get it mid-November, or I get it for free for Christmas. I'm thinking Christmas.

My number is 3835XXXX, very close to the above, but it says it's good.

Mine says on hold. Backorder will ship on 11/10/11. Anyone have it saying sooner than that for ship date?

 

Remember for those who are crying or upset that they didn't get a single set because others doubled up using different addresses.

As far as we ALL KNOW, the 100K sets are officially sold out. Now the question is, "did I make the cut?"

 

Mine is also backordered until 10 November 2011. It is also on hold. The mint is probably making sure that I didn't order more than 5 and that my credit card information is still valid. It looks like the sets are selling for about $500 on ebay since the sellout. What is everyone's thoughts on the ending value of these sets after the hype? I'm thinking about $350.

 

If APMEX is offering 425 a set its hard to believe they will only be worth 350 at the end

Backordered 11/11/11.

 

I've never had such trouble. Started placing both phone and PC orders at noon. Got booted off site more than once. I intended to buy only 1 set but by hitting "place order" button once to often (trying to get to "place order" page, I got 2. I couldn't remove 1 and still get to check out so at 3:07, I purchased both Order number was 38357XXX and shows "backordered". One set, two sets, I don't care, just glad to finally get the order placed.
