Thanks for the reply and reassurance. I'm still curious as to what 'held' means. Is that maybe just jargon for an order that is waiting to be processed? Oh and sorry, I forgot to mention that I ordered five sets. This thread is a good idea, but I don't know how accurate the conclusions are (it's kind of like piecing together a puzzle, albeit with only some of the pieces available Thanks

 

Did I get in?

I finally got my order in at 2:59 pm est and my order number was #38355XXX. I ordered 2 sets after logging in at 11:30 am and refreshing for about 3 hours. It shows under order status that mine is on hold, backordered, and to be shipped 11/11/2011. Do I need to worry about getting mine?

 

What an interesting morning huh? My order status on the site looks good although I'm not understanding the order number sequences that everyone else is showing. Logged on @8:55 am PST and it took over two hours to get through and finalize I could not get through on the phone. I see everyone experienced the same difficulty with the web site. I finally got to check-out and I then lost the site. Re-logged on and saw my shopping cart with my items. Once again I waited patiently refreshing the screen during check-out. Not sure if that helped but with inactivity on their page they will time you out for security reasons. Order number: 38344XXX

Order Date: 10/27/2011 at 01:58 PM units backordered. Expected to ship on 11/10/2011. Good luck everyone.

 

Seems like a majority got in, I would say the safe bets are the ones placed before 3:00 PM. Wait list has been started so anyone after this is on the "I hope I'm lucky list".

Again my experience with the ATBs have helped me a great deal. lol, keep refreshing and if it times out then click on shopping cart and try again if you managed to get it not the cart. My advice is a little late for most that are still trying to get a set but for next time.

I appreciate the advice for the next time... lol...
I wasn't sure if refreshing would help with the site traffic.
It was aggravating to finally get to check-out only to be kicked off.
It will be interesting to see the the final selling report of these sets.

 

Here is what I predicted 3 days ago:


100K sets
1-5 sets per order
200-500 orders processed per minute
The mint site is sure to crash

I am estimating a 4pm ET sell out +/- 1 hour.

I got my order in at 3:45 (order38364xxx) and received an email confirmation.

It is "backordered." I'm told that that is the normal status and will change when they ship it.

I called them 101 times (busy signal).

Firefox couldn't even open the catalog page.

IE added it to the cart, but (coincidentally?) my computer locked up each time I tried to going to the next page and I needed to reboot. (After the second time, I gave up on IE).

The browser on my phone claimed that there was an error on the page.

I ended up downloading chrome and using it to order.

 

I have a slow internet connection so was really frustrated with the freezes and being timed out for "security reasons". I got a completed order (#38382xxx) at about 5:20 eastern time, but it was in my cart for a couple hours before I could get it to go through. Only 1 set. The order shows "backordered" does that mean waitlist?

Order placed from the mens room at work from my cell phone. Website froze up a few times, but was completed in about 10 minutes. Started right at noon.

"Held" means they will validate your order before it's accepted. This is to insure that more than 5 coins are not delivered to your household and that funds are there to pay for the coin. They will also check to see if there are enough coins to satisfy your order.

It will change to "confirmed" or something like that once they have accepted the order.

I've had "held" orders canceled by the Mint even though it was initially accepted. This happened when they decided to pull coins from the market.

 

Put my order in at 5:40pm EST. Do you think im in????

How can you tell if you're on a waiting list?

 

You'd have been told by the mint in your order confirmation.
