Yeah I was amazed that the mint lowered their prices at all! I did the rough numbers in my head last night which was how I came up with $299 but yeah, I don't think the mint will miss out on a few million bucks so easily! Figure with a 100,000 set mintage for every $10 the price changes up or down the mint is +- $1,000,000 :)

Regardless of what they price it at, we will buy them. If you miss out or think it's priced to high, then you will only end up paying more later. Bet your ass the flippers will be all over this one!

I know I will be buying regardless of the price, as there are 2 "must have" coins in that fancy box. The price will determine how many of the 5 allotted sets I will buy though. As much as I like some of the collector's ATB pucks, I will gladly sacrifice purchasing 1 or 2 of those to have 1 of these.

For me it will depend on the issue price.. if I can't get a set at that point, will have to work on it later with the burnished and reverse proof...

I agree, the Mint is going to gouge as usual, taking much of the numismatic value for themselves. But, you do know the Mint knows what is said on forums like these? Let's not let the seller know they can charge us whatever they like. Actually, I don't collect the ones I think are over priced, as most of the time you lose.

My wife told me to order five. I'm going to try for five with another card and address, too!

Oh man, I want to it to come out already! It says shipping in late November though... ugh, why don't they make the coins and then ship them, they know it is going to sell out... How fast do you all think the set will sell out? And I think they do the 5 per home limit by IP address, so two different cards may not work.

I think they will be available for a while. At least for 30 days after their release. You always get this hype before a mint release date and then it dies down within a week or so. These sets are for collectors, not so much for bullion investors. I'll wait a few days after initial ordering to get mine. I have never missed on an item yet by waiting it out a little while, regardless of the quantity of the mintages.

I have to disagree on this, I think a week or two tops and the biggest reason is not because they will be super popular, but rather due to the limit of 5 per household. Let's be honest there are a lot of dealers etc. who are going to be buying the heck outta these things, not to mention plenty of flippers etc. all with multiple addresses. Many people will only buy 1 or 2 sets, but a lot are going to opt in for 5. Heck depending on the price I may try to get more then 5 as I haven't purchased any 2011 Eagles in anticipation of this set!

Flippers will max out where they can, I will. If it's max 5 per add, I'm locked for 10 sets no matter what cost. Unlike the ATBs, the ASEs are a real collectors item and will hold numi value no matter what you think about sell out or not.

If it is under $280, I probably will go for two sets, it probably won't be though...

    Ahhh good point.
I'm gonna have to plan like that.
So I'm saving now for the first 5 sets then :p

Man, just ask the first receivers of the ATB pucks......truer words are hard to come by, and these sets will do the same.

    Yes indeed.

Yeah I ordered one of the first APMEX sets of the ATBs and sold them for like $2000. Then sold a second set I got for about $1800. Then I bought several more sets, picked out the best coins and now I have 2 sets of very high grade ATBs. Sold my remaining sets for anywhere from spot to $1200.

Gotta be quick though as now that a date has been released, it's GAME ON! Already listed at $1000 a set! :)
