2011 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set

    hmmm, lol, now that some of you guys are coming off the hold status without me I'm making myself worry. I hope I'm ok. My order went through at 3:22 pm Eastern and my order number was relatively low from what I've seen(3836xxxx). Someone comfort me:D

    i'm not sure what the mint is doing. i have a low order # 3832 at 12:12 but i'm still in HOLD status.

    My order is time stamped 12:05. Still on hold.

    Confirmation email for me was stamped - 12:00:53
    On hold.

    This status means virtually nothing folks.

    Been lurking for a long time, but registered to give some info for those who were asking for order info.

    My order is time stamped 12:02AM (Why AM I have no idea) with an order # starting with 38324, says "your order request is in process". Still says ship date 11/14/11.

    The "Order request is in progress" may not mean anything, I'm not sure. They said they would be shipping from different locations, so who knows. You would think with all the stuff we have gotten over the years, we would know all the signs.

    Does anybody remember who the guy was that got the first UHR and posted? I can't remember now.

    Wonder if he might get lucky again. It seems like he lived pretty close to the mint.

    The Mint uses the word “backorder” in a different way that most people are familiar with.

    Most companies are sellers, not manufacturers, so when an item is on “backorder,” that means that they have run out of that item, and need to order more from the manufacturer. That may take days or weeks or even months, so the company is telling the customer that he has to wait until the product comes in.
    The Mint is both manufacturer and seller, so when they say “backorder,” they mean that the order is backed up until the coins are minted, assembled, and then shipped to the fulfillment center for mailing.
    The Mint uses “hold” to mean that they need time to verify that the order is legitimate (in this case, not more than 5 sets per household) and that the customer’s credit card has sufficient funds. “In process” means that verification has been done, and now all it takes is for the Mint to see if there are enough sets ready for mailing.
    “In stock and reserved” means that the coins have been assembled into sets and ready to be shipped to the fulfillment center, and that all verifications have been made. At this point, the Mint has ACCEPTED the order — prior to this, the Mint has only RECEIVED the order. Once the set is labeled for mailing, then you will receive a “Shipped” notice and tracking number (though the actual mailing date may be the next day).
    “Suspended” is something new to me. I suppose that is used when a later order is made after the household limit has been reached. I have never seen a “Waiting List” message on the online order receipt or email confirmation, but then, I have never been put on a waiting list.
    To sum up, once you see “In process” and/or “In stock and reserved,” you can safely assume that you will get your coins. “Hold” and “Backorder” are used routinely and does not mean that you will not get your coins.

    I empathize with how you folks feel: It will bring tears of joy to my eyes when I see that my check card has been successfully charged (no fraud block when the mint runs it because I'm making such an atypically big purchase). I will be checking my bank account online daily and hope that I see $1504.70 as a pending transaction soon:)

    ''First, the mint's wait list was not implemented at 4:30, according to the mint, but rather in the range of 5:15-5:30. I can't personally attest to the truth of this, as I was dealing with rush hour traffic during this period of time.

    Second, there have been massive amounts of cancelled orders for these sets. The mint rep was able to confirm that there were customers that, through mistake or mischief, had placed orders numbering into the hundreds of sets. With the exception of the first five sets, all of those were cancelled, and those cases in which wrongdoing was obvious had a good chance of losing all of their sets. Apparently, starting in approx. 2008, collector complaints led the mint to develop a significant analytical engine to find persons or companies that were attempting to circumvent order limits, and this engine has supposedly been very successful.

    Though not a perfect measure, the mint rep communicated to me that a good guess for a cutoff time on the current wait list is about 7:15PM EST. If you got your order in before this time, according to the mint's call center, you should be in line to receive your order.''
