http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Americ...3401126?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cfb49 5326#ht_500wt_1156 holly cow! they are expensive ! i hope they do not go done before i receive mine. I don't understand this auction. They may be $1,500 to $2,000 sets, but at present you can BIN for $800 to $900. Maybe it's because this ad claims he has a confirmed ship date.
the bay is saturated with sets listed. but the price is still going up for now. my question is : is it better to pre-sell at least 1 set ? or hold out
I noticed also the ads that say they are in a sealed unopened mint box are selling for a much higher premium.
I broke down and posted one. I will take this price now and pay for half of what I got, and then wait and see what they do in the next couple days. I will only sell what I need to pay for them all, so if I can get $800 each I can keep 3 instead of 2.
What is rare ABOUT grading a "duplicate" coin? I cannot tell you how many have been seen via a stereo microscope. If you really think that your obtaining something no one else has, you are clearly mistaken. You know, I could cite some examples, and can further expand upon, and confirm such things. I will not divulge any information, for it is wisdom that will lead you to the true understanding. This really infuriates me when a coin is so-called graded at 70.
I just hope there is enough hardcore collectors out there to keep the price up! because a lot of sets will be sold as 1 set. not 3 or so like how the mint sold them.
I think the idea of grading is to achieve a 70 so that it is considered a perfect coin. but i agree it is a business which involves politics.
Patience. Don't be hasty, unless your strapped for cash. We do this for the fun, not for the money. At the end, what is anything worth?
True for some, but not all... And when barking up the philosophical tree, be prepared for depressive thoughts and headaches, which is why most of us would rather not go there.
