I placed 2 orders before it said waiting list first order for 2 sets at 3:50 and 2nd order for 1 more set at 6:11, both say on hold, backordered, do you think I will get both orders filled?
If I can get $2K for a raw set, I won't be sending any to grade, I'll put 3 on the bay. My first ship date was 11/10, changed to 11/11, now 11/12. What gives?
It will continue to increase by 1 day until the actual ship date... Remember it did say late November, im thinking Nov. 22-25...
In my experience with the mint, that shipping date has absolutely nothing to do with when they actually ship.
I talked to the Mint today, the rep said they were gonna try and meet the 2 week shipping date.....take it for what its worth.....I hope she is right.
I think the LostDutchman was referring to multiple orders that were in total of more then 5 sets. Those who did individual orders should be fine. I would have lost my mind if I was trying to order 5 individual orders, servers were dirt slow.
In all likelihood, there is no demand for the ATB, even though there are small production numbers. Unless appeal occurs, which I doubt, there will be no significant price demand here. First, the coin is overly large, sort of an eyesore to serious collectors. Maybe, more importantly is the fact of the engravers, whom are not well known, and relatively new. I will take my chances with the ASE, 5 coin set, over the aforesaid product. I gave it much consideration, but decided against it. I have not checked lately, but they are probably still for sale.
I don't know about them being an eyesore and all that, but it's absurd that the Mint sold the 5oz set for only $30 higher than the original price on the 5oz 2011-P ATB pucks. Unless they are going to sell more of the rare ASEs outside of the sets, they've hurt their profits by tens of millions of dollars.
I do not consider the 'ATB' an eyesore, 'your words'. I said that they were not really appealing. You know, I thought the same thing, as far as the price difference between the two. In all reality, if the ATB were really hot, and maintained a past, it would be different. The U.S. Mint has not lost anything. In fact, they sold approximately 194,00 Uncirculated (W) at $60.00, before lowering the price to $50.00. How much profit is that, accompanied with the same measure with the proof, only a smaller margin. For you to inject such an issue will not work. We have tried these roads before, with thousands of people. It did not work then, and it will not work now. I hope you can relate to what I amy saying. To think literally that the U.S. Mint would lose that amount, you are clearly mistaken.
How so, I'm truly interested? By the way, I see your from Florida. We have family in Naples, and Bonita Springs. Where do you reside in Florida; you don't have to say.
most likely i will not have mine graded. because time and cost. but a full set in ms/pf70 would be very valuable ! the gold UHR in ms70 are very valuable

Plenty of time for them to catch on and if/when they do, PHEW, lower mintage than the 1995W eagle. It took many years for the bullion eagles to catch on, most regarded them as uncollectable and stuck with Morgans. The designs on these 5oz P's are awesome with extremely high relief. Take a look at one of the more unpopular ones, Mt. Hood, it looks like you could ski down the ridges.
whats the real chance of getting 70's? I know some people touched on it and i heard as much as 20% on some and 50% on other which would make it worth it since seems to more than doubles the value but those numbers just seem too high to me.
I will not be able to convince anyone, not to have anything graded. I could write a semi-thesis on this subject, but wish not to incur the wrath of others. Simply stated, grading is a business, like any other.
