I hope I can get lucky enough to pickup a set.. probably be more like calling a radio station to win something.. need caller 9 and I'll be 8 or 10~~
Does the Mint put limit restrictions on Coin Dealers as to how many sets they can order? 50, 100, 500, 5,000 sets ?
I will probably take the day off work just to order these sets, I hope that everyone gets a chance to buy
The limit the mint puts on these sets knows not whether it's dealer or collector ordering. 5 per household is just that. Now they may change that standard as the time for ordering these approaches.
Here's a question for all of you hypthesizers out there: does the release of a reverse proof in 2011 make the 2006 reverse proof any less appealing or less valuable, since it is no longer is the only silver eagle of this type anymore?

Actually, this question has been discussed earlier in this very thread. I suppose more posters can still opine though...Check that, it was discussed on a similarly named thread on the coin forum. My bad....
If green18statement is true. How will big coin dealers have more than 5 sets available within days of the Mint's released shipments and even slabbed & graded PR69 & Pr70 within 2 to 3 weeks ?
The 5 limit per household is a minor nuisance for dealers who have the bankroll to buy these sets in bulk. They simply make use of proxies to do their buying. It's very easy to have a surrogate network of family, friends, employees, [other trusted person], etc. (get the idea yet?) to do the buying en masse for them. Don't know about the timetable for PCGS and NGC grading these sets. Maybe we will see an announcement as the release date approaches.
Because they will have Aunts, Uncles, cousins, sales people and friends outside of their household ordering the sets too.....

:stormy:My guess would be $279.95 for the 25th anniversary set. The metals always seem to be at the low end in price, when something of value is released from the U.S. Mint. Shortly after, metals appear to jump in price. The U.S. Mint will make a determination as to how much they can receive, nothing to do with volatility, even though the Mint states this. This is a contest to see who can come the nearest to the issue price, right? What do I win, if I am correct?
You get a cookie, as Don Rickles would say. I like your price for these Synoptic12. I fear it will be nowhere near that, but I do like your price. Welcome to the forum dear fellow.......
I agree - I would love to see $279 as the price but that breaks down to $56 per coin which lets be honest, with silver hovering in the low to mid $40 range I would think a price of $65-$70 per coin so maybe $349.95? Add the fancy box and maybe $379? I do think it will come in below $400 though.... hopefully
You could possibly be right on track, but whichever way you look at it, we will still purchase, regardless of price.
I'm a bit new to buying from the mint. How much lead time can we expect from when they announce the date of sale until the actual day of sale?
