I usually do not buy ASEs but I might have to get at least one of these just to sell, any idea what a set will sell for once the mint runs out? How long term of an investment will this take, can you double your money in just a couple months or will it take six months or longer to sell out and raise quickly?

I think there is a little to much hype. the us mint lowered there prices on ASE'S. I hope you all dont get stuck with a bunch of sets that can't turn a profit. I see people losing money on the 2011 silver eagle proof's on ebay. even though I shouldn't I will buy 1 . but NOT 10. nobody is going to pay $1000 for the set. maybe a premium for the graded reverse and UNC. S. .

but then again I'M not much of a modern collector. I like old rare coins. especially old gold coins.

ASE'S are a little to flashy for me. thats just my opinion !

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - welcome to Cointalk by the way!

I think $1000 is a bit high for an ungraded set although I bet the first few to sell on Ebay get close to it. I think once they sell out $500-$600 for raw sets will be the going rate and for a set of 70's I think $1000+ depending on how many get handed the grade! ASE series is probably the most popular one the mint does, so buy 1 or buy 10, either way I don't think you will lose money.

I'm one of the guys who was late to the dance on these. I kept putting off ordering because of the high allowable mintage (500,000 across all product offerings). Don't keep the lady waiting. She'll ditch ya for someone else.......

Wonder if the Mint will reduce the order limit or set a crazy high price with all the hype/speculation going on here?

Guess he will feel rather silly IF he can't get thru and get 5 sets...

so just to clarify- this set will have an Eagle with an "s" mint mark which will have a 100,000 mintage and a reverse proof that will have a 100,000 mintage - the other 3 coins will have large mintages and will be nothing special, am I getting this? If that is correct those 2 coins with the 100,000 mintages will probably be pretty valuable because there are just a ton of silver eagle collectors.

if I understand this correctly there will be 2 SAE's with a 100,000 mintage. If that is true I'd guess that they would be worth a lot- there are a lot of SAE collectors out there.

Well, I got the seller's response tonight:

"seriously get a life!!! If you have nothing better to do than make low ball offers I feel sorry for you. Take your offers elsewhere Good day"

I usually ignore those offers. Guess the seller has no better offers to respond to.
