Wowsers...... APMEX is selling timberwolves for $5.00 over spot(if you order less than 25)....... glad I got mine early.........
yea I ordered 26 of them so I could get the discount from it and did that last week before the price hike... I might sell some of them here on the classifieds section to help out others so they can try to avoid the huge premium I'll most likely make that decision when I get them in on the 2nd or so
They are ONLY $2.85 over spot here: http://www.providentmetals.com/2011-canadian-silver-wolf-1-oz-9999-fine.html TC
Not knocking down the Silver Eagles, they are a beautiful coin, but I'm just kind of bored with them. I think Canada has something here. A new design every year, and the first one is spectacular! Since the mint is already skipping ASE issues currently, it wouldn't be a bad time if they were to change the design.
If they change the SE design they will copy another old design....we don't seem to have the artist. Mexico,England,Canada, and Australia to name a few put us to shame.
I'm afraid you might be right. But, on the other hand Canada sort of inspired the state quarter program. We just need to be vocal to one of our elected officials who shares the same hobby.:smile
Looks like the 2011 timberwolf is bringing back some interest in the 2006 1/2 oz timberwolf...... Provident Metals is completely sold out of them and APMEX only has 7 in stock, and they want a pretty penny for them as well........ 32.99 each! For the 1/2 oz!
I've ordered mine, just waiting on delivery. It has already shipped. The 2011, is ordered but not as of yet shipped. After this recent fiasco with the U.S. Mint and the ATB hockey puck edition, I've decided to call it quits with them and further will proceed with the U.K. mint. I never would have guessed that my dissatisfaction with our mint would come to this . But it has.
When they first came out, there was a thread bashing them here. A lot of people didnt care for the 2010 design. I think it looks pretty good. Will definitely be getting a Wolf or two. They're supposed to be pretty popular worldwide. I like what they're doing with these.
bringing back an old thread... I have one of these coins on display in my place on a kitchen countertop and really like seeing it when I walk by or am in the kitchen...it's in one of those plastic 2x2 flips and stands up like that...anyways I noticed it earlier and thought I would look up the prices on these on e-bay...I bought them back when silver was at $26/oz or so back in september-october and they were selling for $27.87 each from apmex since I bought 26 of 'em a 25 count roll and the 1 in the plastic flip. On e-bay the lowest price I saw now was $38.53. just wonder if they will keep going up or if this is the height for them premium wise over silver cost...
I know I might get basted for saying this (graded bullion), but these don't seem to be grading out very high by NGC. Almost all I have seen is MS68. So, high grade versions of these could actually be scarce. I love the design. The mirror on the snow below the wolf is awesome. Looking forward to the grizzly too.
Just got my two 1oz silver wolves today, and they look lovely. Just need to get a couple of air-tight for them. My 4 1/2 silver wolves are still in the original mint packaging, and I can't believe how the price jumped on them from when I bought them this time last year. I was wondering what the next coin would have on it, and I am hoping that there will be a lynx in the series. I have an old silver Canadian quarter with one on it, and it is one of my favorite coins.
I like the Timberwolf coin quite a bit. Wha'ts up with the Canadian $8 coins. I guess the Canucks have a hard time counting to 10 ???
