Ok, just wanted to make sure I ordered the right ones! Might have to pick up a couple silver sets if they are that low of mintage.
it looks like the 5 oz silver quarter coin were delay. and the mintage is around maximum 100,000 each. that is too many.
I heard the same thing and that is disappointing. There is a story in this week's issue of Coin World (p.4) on them. TC
so the 5 ounces won't be a good thing to buy cause the mintage is high on them? if true what has low mintages enough to be a good buy in 2010? I picked up a couple BSA coins cause I'm into scouts and I don't really plan on selling them even if I were to get a profit...whatelse can I purchase that is worth while? also I can get a sealed mint bag of 2009 halves for $140... is that worth it?
'bout $10 over the current issue price for 2010's from the mint so I'll let you be the judge Al......
IF (and that is a big IF) the mint produces any ASEs this year, that will be a worthwhile purchase! TC
2010 american the beautiful 5 oz silver coin is quite too late to offer and yet the mintage and price is quite high. are you guys sure to get one?. 2010w american eagle one ounce silver proof might cost $50.00. if there is one. the current estimate for proof-like only one ounce silver medal for 9/11 10th anniversary is $50.00 each. $10.00 surcharge as usual. so the coin is costing $40.00. but it is a proof-like coin only. what about a proof coin?. how much will it cost?.
So far, all year, the US Mint subscription page has left pricing for the TBD collector version 2010 ASEs pricing unchanged: 2010 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin Subscription - $31.95 per unit and 2010 American Eagle Silver Uncirculated Coin Subscription - $25.95 per unit
those old prices were only to attract subscription people. the mint always can change the prices as they have said it before. now the one ounce proof abp is bidding at $52.00 each. dealer to dealer grey sheet bid $55.00 and ask $57.50. apmex is selling common one at $59.95 each.
My point is that the Mint have to actually release 2010 collector version ASEs to make any price relevant. You can speculate every one cent increment of what they might sell for until the end of time. Until you know you're just spinning your wheels.
2M!!! And to think, some people suggest that mintages of commemorative coins from the US Mint are in decline! Too many you ask? Too many for what? To make money off a tragedy? Yeah, probably, but they'll make a mint due to subject matter most likely. Too many to be profitable for numismatic collectors, certainly. Will collectors be trying to gouge and flip these like every other product? That I am curious to see, given the general sensitivity to the subject matter.
2010w american eagle platinum one ounce proof coin nearly sell out?.... 2009w - 7207 2010w - 8268 (not final)
Does the Congressional authorization to mint American Eagle proofs in 2010 come from a sub-committee or the full, both houses, of Congress? Has a bill been drafted, approved by the sub- committee, or on the agenda for a vote? In other words, is this something that is being worked on, or just dreamed about by those on this List? If it is being worked on, then when will we know, if it's approved or not? Many members of Congress are apparently preoccupied with the Mid-term elections at this time, and does something like this kind of legislation actually have a chance of being approved? Thanks
