You're right it was not the dealer's fault. I received the coin today. When they sent me the email saying the item was shipped USPS stated that they had picked the item up. USPS did not provide enough information. It wasn't Gainesville's fault.

I've dealt with Apmex several times and always had great service and great coins. The coins were all bullion type silver rounds and they were perfect AND quick and just like advertised. I have not dealt with gainsville.

However, as a suggestion, only buy BU bullion coins when you're buying one of the sovereign stalwarts like phillies, mapleleafs, roos and kooks, libertads, etc. When you're buying numismatic gold and silver coins - you can go with circulated grades. And even then I'd try to avoid anything less than AU or EX.

Anyone want to help me finish my CC type set?? teehehe,

People don't really seem to realize these terms are basically meaningless for modern bullion and numismatic coins. Un-circulated & circulated mean very specific things in regards coin grade on older circulated coins that may have been in someone's pocket when the face value of the coin meant that was used for commerce. Without exception, all the coins mentioned in this topic have never been circulated.

Buying uncirculated is more of a preference to me since if and when I had to sell some coins, I know the buyer would most likely want to buy uncirculated bullion coins rather than circulated. Think about how many coins the mints of the world have pumped out over the past few years alone.
