Dammit, the mint tracking is still down. I talked to someone at the mint today and they are back to the old 6-9 month story. AAAHHH.. At least when I could see my name in the order processing, I could have a little hope, Just a little.. Now what are we left with, NOTHING. Well at least I can look forward to my Lincolns,,, maybe

Today was a Federal holiday so I imagine if we see it come back, it will be tomorrow.

At any rate, the charge is still sitting on my card so I am hoping for a ship date some time this week. I am not, however, holding my breath.

with gold headed for a high of $972.60. if its average stay over $950.00. the UHR double eagle will then be $1,339.00. and the prosperity set is $1,275.00.

Well, the holiday is over and the option is still down. I think we all burned out a bearing on their server with all the requests to check on our orders (LOL).

I'm hoping they have it down in order to correct the bizarre order tracking issues.

Again, not holding my breath. :computer:

Has anyone thought of contacting their Congressmen to see if they could at least get the real story on what's going on? If you could get an honest explanation of why there's a delay and how it will be cleared up it would go a long way in reducing your level of frustration. I didn't order any special Mint issues and I don't plan to do so, so I don't care what they do one way or another.

I think that is much closer to the truth than you realize. The web site is probably overloaded with all of these tracking requests.

Get over it guys. They told you from the beginning that you would have to wait for 6 to 9 months to get these coins. What is it - didn't you beleive them ? They'll get there when they get there. And no amount of tracking requests is going to change that.

The reason why people aren't "getting over it" is because some have already been shipped out for orders placed after those of us who placed our orders earlier, which directly violates their own policy of "first orders placed, first orders out". The 6-9 month rule thing applies to orders placed after the first 29,000 strikes depending on when more blanks come in. Those that ordered on most of the first day should be covered under the coins already struck and their orders should have been shipped by now.

There are conflicting reasons why the Mint won't ship these coins, from book availability to damaged or missing pieces of the packaging. Nonetheless, no official word has come from the Mint despite several inquires by the numismatic media, and respected bloggers. That leads to the justified concern by those of us that ordered this coin, especialy considering that they did indeed ship orders out of sequence.

Something is awry and we deserve answers.

2:00 pm EST and still down. Got a box in the mail today. My heart did a flip until I saw it was just an item I got on eBay. lol The waiting game continues!

I imagine the Mint is adopting a software development philosophy in that we'll get our coins when the coins are ready!

I can fully understand excitement, anticipation and disappointment but, come on, this isn't a life or death event. If you ordered and paid then you will get the coins. Whether you get them tomorrow or in three months, you'll still go on living every day pretty much the same as you did the day before. Once you get them you'll pretty much forget about the wait and just enjoy them. If your disappointment is because you didn't get them before someone else got theirs, or you think the orders are being filled "out of order" my advice is to just get over it. That's the way life is. Find solace in the fact that you'll get yours before someone else gets theirs.

I believe the levels of frustration seen here are related to the Mint being so secretive about their activities. Very simply, why can't they be more open and transparent about their activities? Surely they understand they are dealing with passionate coin collectors and hobbyists.

Exactly, I don't mind the wait so far. Although I would mind if it took 6-9 months. The wait isn't the issue yet. It's the principle of the policy not being followed by the ones who set it (The Mint) and the fact that they won't disclose any information from inquiries.

No one deserves answers and being quiet is not the same thing as being secretive. Some of the attitudes you guys manifest on here are hilarious. You girls get worked up over an email or not being able to get a response from a website. What a bunch of hens ...lol...an you complian about your wives.

Write your congressman ...stitches, I tell you ...stitches. I would think your congressman is a little busy saddling our grandkids with debt at the moment.

Watch your credit card statement ..when its charged, you will get your coin.

I worked for a Government agency for 30 years and I can tell you that there is rarely any logic to the way things are done. The workers work their 7.5 hours a day and go home. What doesn't get done today will, or might, get done tomorrow.

Further, in my field, every time we got a complaint, we had to find the record to see what the problem was and respond to the complainer. Then that record went back to the bottom of the pile - it wasn't acted on and it wasn't returned to its prior location to be handled in order. The only way to really get any immediate action was to show up in person, demand to see the manager and make a lot of noise. I doubt you could do that at the Mint without arousing the Secret Service from their naps and ticking them off.
