As the price goes up, and is higher at the time of shipment, is the mint going to honor the price in effect at the time of the sale?

24 hours ago mint website said in stock and reserved, today on backorder expected to ship 2/6. The book was on backorder expected to ship on 2/6 now reading still backordered with a ship date of 2/20. Isn't today 2/6? I can hardly wait to see what it says later lol! By the way have they shipped any of these yet? If you got one how about a pic of a coin in hand? not a publicity shot. And what about the quality of the packing etc. I think the first shipment would have been posted by now but you never know.

 

The one piece of good news I can perhaps add to those who are waiting.... The god bugs out there are getting concerned that in the short to intermediate term gold may collapse, as soon as the fear recedes, thus allowing someone to get in at a lower price if mint lowers it.

Long term, ie 2 to 3 years once the economy starts recovering, inflation will be through the roof, normal demand to gold will return and should be a big net positive to gold.

The more fund managers I speak with, the more the picture is getting a bit clearer.

Got an email this morning saying 2-20 for both, Then went back to the mint site and NOW it says 2-6 for the coin and 2-20 for the book. Yesterday it said 2-20 for both..
They are just doing this to totally screw the flippers on e-bay. Alot of the e-bay stuff is saying shipping from the mint on the 6th. HA HA

The 20th would be OK, 2 weeks and counting. and counting.

 

if you order today. the shipping date is moved to 3/27/09.

Now book is back to 2/6 shipping. Still haven't seen if anyone successfully canceled the book and taken shipment of the coin?

 

OK got the email saying new ship date 2/20 for book and coin But the order history still has a ship date of 2/6 for the coin. I can only assume the email is correct as today was 2/6 and I don't see a tracking number for the order. I know I'm just going to make myself crazy checking and posting daily but I can't help it!:headbang::desk::computer:

Well, 2/6 has come and gone and I am still showing reserved on the coin and 2/6 on the book.

 

You only check once a day?? 3 or 4 times at least for me, I'm loseing it, refresh, refresh. The least they could do now is change the date on the mint site, Obviously, they did'nt ship on the 6th. COME ON 20th.

I tried refreshing my way to an actual shipping status one day. I still have a drawer full of keyboards with a dead F5 key for my efforts.

i wonder how many UHR double eagle sold as of today?. 100,000 or more.

 

Actual coins shipped is a more important measure in this gold environment. They can take orders for a million but it doesn't matter if only 20,000 ship.

 

if the mint take those orders. that's mean more or less they can ship it to you guys. but it will take longer time to process them.

 

I wouldn't count on it, with reports of orders being canceled by the Mint. (See last post here: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=4433024393760369647&postID=6492941460452516623) Things aren't entirely stable so it's possible that, despite the Mint's promise of availability for everyone who wants one, only a few make it into customer's hands. This writing has been on the proverbial wall since the halting of proofs to focus on unc. coins.

Then again, you can't predict the future and in six months you may be able to pick up a UHR for like $700. These are interesting times.
