How often do where hear on CT or other places how people are just going to wait and buy these coins on the secondary market when the price drops??? We hear it all the time. But the question that I pose is will people sell these coins for a loss? Unless gold just tanks which I doubt that it will do....who in their right minds would sell the proof buff for less than they bought it. It is not that often that you see that. I think the market value is now established and it is highly unlikely that you will see these coins for much less.... and I say much less because these could drop in price, but the $50 that it drops isn't going to make much of a difference.

The only exception I think to this rule is the 2007 APE 10th Anniversary set. THe price of platinum tanked a few months after this coin came out and a bunch of people bought the set thinking that they could flip it for a quick buck like the ASE and AGE sets that came out the year before. The mint decided to lower their price and a whole bunch of buyers bought up the coins at the lower price only to resell at a price much lower than the original price, but still high enough to make some money. It is for this reason that I still have mine and I am glad that I do, but I hate for it to have been under those circumstances.

The reason that I mention all this is because it looks as though the mint will most definitely raise the price of these coins tomorrow and we are nearly halfway through the month. This leaves about 50 days or so before the end of the year and probably less for the sale of this coin. I think that if you are on the edge of buying this coin that now is the time to jump. You are not going to see if for much less than this and if this coin keeps a mintage of less than 30k, we may see a large price bump on the secondary market that will definitely price this coin several hundred dollars or more above the original price. Have you seen where the 08Ws are priced!!! WOW!
