I haven't looked at my tracking history in a while so I pulled up the mints website to check out the status of the buff. Says the order is in process, but I noticed that the "cancel" button and little check box is now back up. Whats up with that? It was up when I first placed the order then disappeared after the first few days. I don't know when it came back up but it is there. Weird.

Of course they want you to cancel now.... the price is going up, they could resell the same coin for 50$ more!

Alright, its 11/19.... coin still not shipped... whats going on at this building full of hoohaa they call the mint!?

I just spoke with the sales guy at the mint. Gave him my first order number for the order that SHOULD ship today. First thing he says "well I can tell you already your order wont ship today" Then he went on to tell me the mint is having problems, but they didnt say what they were and the coins are expected to ship around the 27th. Also told me for new coins being ordered the delay would be around 4-5 weeks.

Only thing I noticed on the back at 2 o' clock there almost looks like a little piece of cardboard stuck in between the coin and the holder! Anyone else see this or am I losing it?

well here we are at 6:30 on the 19th... first order still "In stock and reserved", second order still "backordered and expected to ship 11/19/2009"...

I'm sure everyone at the mint has gone home for the evening... guess it's not going out today... *sigh*

If you had read my post from 12:50 you woulda already known that sucker wouldnt ship today

 

I wonder if this is correct based on your coins being previously ordered because the Mint website AGB page was updated today to reflect 'expected to ship date' from 11/20 to 11/27. Hopefully you'll have your order sooner.

:bigeyes: Whoa! Does that mean they can't deliver before the year end holidays? That will really hurt some folks if they planned these as gifts for Christmas.

 

It does sound that way.... but who knows what they are doing... when talking to people at the mint it sounds like its divided into two categories:
Mint- Makes coins
Mint sales team- spews crap, makes updates to website, has no product info on anything THEIR OWN COMPANY IS DOING

They told me the coins were delayed for unknown reasons.... well why dont you do some work, and go ask someone so I can get an update on my order with you all that consists of thousands of dollars.
Those are sorta kinda my thoughts on it haha

 

Unfortunately I doubt they will be going out of their way for anyone unless they themselves are actually interested in the product or intimately know of the problems at hand out of more than usual personal interest in their job and product.

With customer service anywhere you encounter it these days in all it's lacking forms, I would only suspect the Mint's customer service phone lines to be there for: placing orders, taking the most basic of order questions, pointing out online ordering options, then redirecting other inquiries to an appropriate supervisor. I doubt the first line of reps you encounter do much else, so I wouldn't expect much beyond this basic description of duties.

 

I wonder if the sales numbers include all of the ones that are sitting at the mint, or if they only count the ones shipped?

Chuck, If I had to guess about those numbers, I'd wager the sales numbers include all those orders whose credit has been approved for fulfilling the order.
